![]() I was able to get the card working using CMedia's Windows 7 beta drivers (and optical out to the receiver), however, even with DDL enabled in the control panel, games still output 2 channel PCM (I made sure that the Montego Digital out was the primary sound device, and even went as far as to disable all other sound devices). I happened to have an old(ish) Turtle Beach Montego DDL sound card (which has Dolby Digital Live capability), however, Turtle Beach is awful about driver releases, no Windows 7 driver yet, and no 64-bit support at all (and since I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, this is especially disappointing). ![]() ![]() After some research, I learned that I needed something called Dolby Digital Live to make it work over the digital connection. Movies work just fine (my receiver tells me its receiving a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal), but games only come through as stereo (receiver shows 2 channel PCM). While this works fine for basic audio, I'm having a heck of a time getting my PC games to run in surround. Right now, I have an HDMI cable running from the video card to the receiver, and then the hdmi out from the receiver to my monitor (I also have my PS3 hooked up to the receiver). In an attempt to set up a psuedo-htpc setup, I bought a cheapish sony surround system. In the past, I always had a 5.1 setup using the colored audio jacks, which worked just fine for surround, however, recently, I built myself a new PC with an ATI HD5850 video card. ![]()
